Andrew was appointed Managing Director of Xtenda Mozambique on 01 May 2018. He has more than 25 years banking experience, commencing in Trade Finance at First Merchant Bank in Zimbabwe. He was part of the team that opened the doors of Heritage Investment Bank in Zimbabwe in 1996 and became Trade Finance Manager when Heritage Investment Bank and First Merchant Bank later merged. He moved into banking operations when he joined BancABC, Zimbabwe (now Atlas Mara), holding various positions and becoming General Manager, Group Banking Operations in 2002. During this period Andrew worked as a team leader on a number of new banking applications implemented within the Group.

Andrew was later appointed Deputy Managing Director of Microfin Africa Zambia Limited, a BancABC microfinance company, being in charge of sales and operations. With the merger of BancABC, Zambia and Microfin Africa he became Head of Retail and SME banking after which he was promoted to Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail. He was later appointed Deputy Managing Director of BancABC, Botswana, before being appointed Country Head – Retail & Business Banking at BancABC, Zimbabwe.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Technology Honours Management degree from the University of Zimbabwe and has undergone various executive development courses with GIBS in South Africa and International Development Ireland (IDI) in Dublin, Ireland.
